What is Lenny?

Lenny is a simple gmail notification tool. If your twitter account is sms enabled, it alerts you whenever you get a new mail in your inbox.


In the movie Toy Story, Lenny is a pair of binoculars with feet. He is talkative when he warns the toys what he sees on his watch. So, now you see the co-relation!


 
 

About Lenny.in

Hi I'm Abhishek, and I created Lenny.in. It is said necessity is the mother of invention. This app isn't any milestone in innovation, but yes it was necessary, at least for me.


So, it happened that while working for a certain client, I landed up in a miserable chain of fixes over fixes to the work. The work eventually extended over my holidays and I happened to be spending more than 10 hours of a day at college. Obviously, I needed some way to get an alert if a mail came up from the client's side.

AppEngine -> Gmail -> Twitter -> SMS sounded like fun, hence Lenny.in
Thanks to OAuth, it is fairly easy for everyone to use it without giving out their passwords.
